Danish Standards has the pleasure of inviting you to a kickoff meeting regarding integration of renewables in the energy system through district heating and cooling.
The kickoff meeting will be co-hosted by the Swedish Standardisation organization, SIS, and will take place at their premises:
Solnavägen 1 E/Torsplan,
113 65 Stockholm
Programme
The kickoff meeting consists of an interactive one-day event where participants will share common challenges and needs regarding integration of district heating and cooling in the energy system.
The kickoff event will contribute to align understanding about challenges, as well as paving the way to developing standardization and guidance towards cost-efficient DHC solutions in a fluctuating energy system based on integration of several different renewable sources. During the event participants will have the opportunity to provide their input to coming standardization deliverables.
In 2023, the scope of CEN/TC107 was extended to cover district heating and cooling at energy system level with a focus on integration of renewable energy sources and increasing energy efficiency.
The extension was made to ensure fulfillment of the vast potential of DHC to contribute to the implementation of the ambitious EU climate and energy targets and EU fit for 55 by utilizing waste heat from multiple energy sources like hydrogen production, wind, or solar energy in a fluctuating energy system in the DHC system.
The REPower EU Plan and the revised Energy Efficiency (EED) and Renewable Energy Directive (RED) set out ambitious measures, including to increase the use of renewable energy and waste heat in district heating systems.
The kickoff event is open to all stakeholders interested in system integration of DHC who would like to shape future European standards and guidance regarding the roll out of DHC in an integrated energy system, including:
